Afternoon all.
Hope you're having a restful Sunday. I hoping the remainder of it wil be restful - it hasn't been so far!

I looked at the sloes I'd removed from the sloe gin that I bottled the other day and wondered if there was anything I could do with thewm, so I searched my recipe books and found an old recipe for sloe and apple jelly, which is supposed to go well with beef and venison. The sloes had already been steeped in gin and sugar, but I briefly washed them off and boiled them up with bramley apples and themnthe resultant goo. I then had to add a pound of sugar for every pint of juice and boil it to setting point. I now have four small jars of sloe and apple jelly - and it's really nice - a bit like plum jam but with a dry aftertaste. If I can pick enough sloes next year I might try to make it without using the sloes for gin first!

Time to sort through some old photos to scan and print out copies to make calendars........ Wish I'd never started this!

Enjoy what's left of your Sunday.

Afternoon all.

Naomi passed her Theory test, now we have the actuall driving test booked, then she could be out on the road all by herself! affraid

Been out shooping this afternoon, couldn't do much around the house or allotment, because it was raining, so went out spending money instead! scratch

Got lots of ironing to do now, so that should keep me occupied for the rest of the evening. Neutral

Hugs all.

I love crafting, I just wish I had time!

G'day all,
Monday morning here in Oz.
Wish it were a bit's quite cool today...think it's only about 20 degrees.
Linda: congratulations to Naomi on her driving...hopefully she will pass her driving test. Here learner drivers have to do over 100hrs of learner driving, which has to be documented in an official RTA (Roads & Traffic Authority) booklet before they are eligible to take their driving test.
Well, have to shopping to do.
Take care all

Hello from Down Under.
Not much happening here.Although sky is clear and very blue, it is cold here today ,the same as with Nettie.
Although Nettie lives in the same State as myself, we live along way from each other, it is a 8 hour drive from where I live to Nettie's home.
Ann , long time since I heard about sloe gin, do not think we have sloes here. One of the fruits I miss are Damson's, some older gardens have a tree, I used to get them from a friend when I lived in the mountains. but I have never seen any for sale.
Never seen elderberries either here. Must check on the computer whether any one does have them.
Now you have me started me reminising , Rolling Eyes Green Gage and Victoria plums.
I have an orange and a lemon tree, two cumquat trees and another fruit tree that is struggling..A herb garden that has got neglected recently. Crying or Very sad
All have good day, as it will be tomorrow befor any one reads this, I know Pat will Laughing Meg
